The Parents association latest mission was to give The Meadow a gift, one that would last a lifetime and one that the children would use and love.
So we contacted Robbie Burns in Dun Laoghaire “Men’s Shed” who do remarkable work with men in the area, helping them learn new skills whilst giving them time to meet others and talk.
Robbie Burns and his amazing team built a beautiful Buddy Bench, from scratch, for the children in The Meadow and painted it in gorgeous, bright colours.
The parents Association donated the money for materials and the men’s shed volunteered and built this the bench.
Robbie Burns and Ronnie Butler presented the bench to Emer Fitzgerald, vice chair of the parents association, on Friday 19th May.
What a fantastic piece of work. And the children and staff love it.
For more information and if you would like a bench made, Robbie and his team would be delighted with more projects for their Men’s Shed, please visit www.menssheds.ie
Why not get one for the garden, this summer.. instead of sending money to Sweden 😉
Let’s keep them busy!
